The easiest way for a new blogger to make money

google adsense is easy, project wonderful is also easy, scroll through my previous posts for info about both of those revenue earning products. However, the easiest way to make money from blogging is by using pay per post:



I admit that it can be tricky to get your blog accepted, you need 10 posts per month, and each post needs to consist of a certain number of words, and original content to be accepted. Although, all those guidelines actually help to make your blog better in the first place. Secondly, you then get to start writing blogs about various topics for money. The more popular your blog is, the more opportunities you will receive. The higher your search rank, the more expensive offers will become available to you. I have a Real Rank of 3 now, which allows me to browse approximately 50 offers ranging from $1.50 to $8.00 per post. Post typically ask for a review of their product within your post, and one link. I choose only things I am interested in, however if I got creative I could easily write about any of the topics, and you can do multiple in one day. I've already earned over 40 dollars so far, and I've only done 4 posts, you get an extra 20 dollar bonus for writing your first post.

Needless to say, Pay Per Post is pretty awesome. If you have the time and the right blog, you could accept every opportunity each day and make a bundle each day. Entrecard jazzing up the feats (feats=features)

Entrecard rolls out some new dandies! "Add new blog" is a new feature that lets a blogger connect all of their blogs into one blognormous account. I can now toggle between my new Icelandic Blog and my Bearded Bunny Art Blog as if I was wearing twelve charm bracelets. The neatest part is the ease at which you can transfer entrecard credit from one account to another.

I can finally afford to buy ad space on one of those COOL popular sites.

The second cool thing Entrecard has done is created an e-book in PDF form. This is like a free......manual. Pretty nifty. We all love PDF manuals about our favorite websites. This may be the blogging bible (or not), but still. This will be extremely handy for those newbies, or 'got to know it all's and for that I applaud. Not physically, but lyrically... clap clap clap. Way to go entrecard.

Sadly, along with me, most of us are writing about this nifty little changes Entrecard has made because they are boasting a BLOG POST CONTEST - WIN 2000 CREDITS! for mentioning the new feature in a blog post. You can't spell cha-ching without semi exciting entrecard updates.

I have had a little loss of love for my once sexy Entrecard. I've lost those butterflies I used to get when waking up and logging in to see how many credits I had earned since I last checked a few hours ago when I went to sleep. The gold and black logo used to catch my eye from afar, and now I just minimize the window to deal with it later. But oh well, entrecard, we are still friends right?

A big day for blog advertising

Project Wonderful

An entire slew of bloggers (many that are already on the entrecard bus) and other small impression based website are selling advertising space with this new company: Project Wonderful. PW is a bidding based advertising seller, selling ads and banner of all types and sizes. The instant bidding system allows for people to bid on an ad on an immediate basis. I have bought a few ads on some neat but cheap webcomic sites to try out the system.

How it works

First off, I typed in my price range ($0.00-0.50 cents per day) and keywords and scanned the list of websites. Once I found one I liked I made a bid (like Ebay) a few cents above the previous bidder, and for how long I wanted my square link to run. I did this on 5 different websites and watched as some of my bids were too small to beat the high bidder and some were instantly approved and running on the website within 15 seconds. This all happened yesterday and since then I've recieved 15 emails telling me I had lost out to the highest bidder on one website, and that I became the highest bidder on another. It is suprising to see, but as one ad, paying lets say 50 cents per day, ends the next highest bidder immediately takes that position until my alloted timeframe runs out. Then I am only charged by the minute for how long my ad runs.

It did not take very long to see the sexy results. I immediately applied for an advertising account myself. You can see my ad spaces on the right hand sidebar. Currently, at the time of this post, I do not have any bids. I am hoping to see some results once my page impressions are calculated and added up for the buyers to see.

Rolling in Cash

Just like anything in the blogging world when it comes to make money, its the page impressions that really count. When buying space, or selling space with Project Wonderful the page impressions is how you decide if it is worth paying $0.04 cents per day or $0.80 per day. I saw the ads appear on Entrecard's campaign page and saw ads literally jump from $0.60 per day up to $7.50 in under 30 hours. Quite a jump. Even though, a site with a few hundred impressions per day like my blog, there are still sites selling ad spaces with similar impressions per day for up to 40 cents per day.

Overall

I think this is a really exciting new medium for advertising, especially for low impression blogs and entrecard users. Project Wonderful is a very user friendly site and worth checking out if you have some sidebar space on your website to sell. I will provide a further review in twenty days to determine the success or lack there of, of this product.

Duplicate Poker follow up (w/picture)

The Story

A month ago I wrote a blog Duplicate Poker: Scam or Legit where I questioned the validity of the skill-based poker site. I explained in my previous post I only tried this site because of an $80.00 cash booster
incentive paid to me by Moola.com for joining and playing cash games. If you are not familiar with Moola see my moola blog here.

Duplicate Poker

So I was paid a good sum of money to play $25 worth of cash games on Duplicate Poker. I was skeptical of the deal, but gave it a shot (turned out this was smart since the offer was shortly thereafter removed). While I found the Duplicate Poker's skillbased set up very odd and seemingly open to cheating with multiple computers...overall I was pleased with my short experience. I literally only played the amount of games I needed to be rewarded my $80 booster, I happened to win 3 of the 11, $2-3 short tournaments I played. This was a nice bonus to the deal.

My Check

As you can see in the picture above I got my check in the mail for $36.30. I had to deposit $20 to play, and therefore walked away from the site gaining a total $16.30. Not to mention the $80 check from moola which is on its way as we speak.

Widgetbucks performance review

In mid-October I signed up for Widgetbucks. The program offers a slideshow type banner featuring products for sale. Each click from a viewer, much like any advertising product, then generates a few cents. I currently have one widgetbucks banner at my Zombie Robot Frosting blog (at the very bottom). Earlier this month a gave a brief review of Widgetbucks in my Widgetbucks blog

Rolling in the Big Money
Widgetbucks, for a small blog like mine, does not generate anywhere near good sums of money. It is a ticky-tack penny-by-penny process. I make 17 cents per click on the banner. I average 1100 page impressions in a month and currently have a 1.33% click rate. With the 14 clicks, my total earnings for November comes out to $2.31

Month to Month Comparison
Last month, I had a much better click rate at 3.74, although I did blog about it and encouraged readers to check out the banner. My per click payment was also a few cents higher at $.20 per click. My earning were $1.58 from 8 total clicks (keep in mind Widgetbucks was started on October 15th, only half of a month statistics). My numbers went down in most cases from the initial month, but the steady stream of clicks from week to week seems reliable. While my overall earnings did go up, the rate fell quite drastically, next month will be interesting to see which way the numbers begin to go. If the number continue to drop, soon there will be no reason for the banner, however if my percent bounces back up and stays consistent with clicks it looks to be a decent ad banner for my health & immortality blog.

Still my favorite feature of this banner ad is the fact that I choose the content category. I choose green products, something I feel is important and also relates to my blog, therefore I enjoy the advertisements on my blog. I happen to be interested in a number of the products which helps me feel confident that it belongs on my page.

Adsense Vs Adbrite: 10 day totals

October 5th I began my journey with Google adsense. I started posting adsense on my zombie robot frosting blog. Ten days ago I started this blog, Blog Blog Cherry using Adbrite as my advertising focus. Here I will post the results from each product after ten days of results.

Statistical Breakdown
Note: keep in mind these are stats for the literal first ten days of each blog, therefore numbers are expected to be very low.

Google Adsense:
page impressions: 756
clicks: 7
ten day earnings: $0.06

Adbrite
page impressions: 324
clicks: 1
ten day earnings: $0.15

Critique
As I mentioned in my last post, that Adbrite has advantages, like choosing which ads will be acceptable on your page and knowing exactly how much each specific ad can generate (this can range from $.05 to $1.60). While Google adsense had better numbers for impressions (which has more to do with people visiting my site than anything) still Adbrite's one single click generated nearly 3 times the earnings in the first 10 days. It will be interesting to see how this earnings battle plays out.

A Fair Fight?
To make this head to head war as fair as possible I need to try to equalize the page impressions for blog blog cherry. This will mean a number of posts about relevant topics and finding people to come see the content. Ten days is not much to go on at this time, but it will be interesting to see the statistics as time goes on.

WidgetBucks: Scam or Legit?

Widgetbucks

A new ad based revenue company, opened on October 2nd, allowing bloggers, businesses and website owners to post ads and make money. It is very similar to google's adsense in a lot of ways. You post code on your page and get paid each time a customer click the animated ad to view a product. There are a number of products and catergories to choose from. Scroll down to the bottom of my page to see my 'green products' widgetbucks ad.

Big Bucks

First off, you get 25 dollars simply for signing up. Which is a good start.

Secondly, the pay per click is extremely high right now. I assume it must go down soon, or else the company will buckle before it begins. My current pay per click is 0.28 cents. Which is about 27 cents above my google adsense pay per click.

Widgetbucks a Scam?

Since widgetbucks program is literally not even one month old its hard to tell. I do know that the first payouts will be made fifty days from now. Which means we can not know until then. I figure its worth a shot to see if it is profitable, but I do think there is a very big possibility that widgetbucks is another scam site. One that will never pay your balances to you. I figure I will give it the alloted 50 days and make my judgment then. I am skeptical, but it is still on my page, so i have some hope.

Vume- Make "them" money by posting pictures?

Make it. Post it. Profit
VuMe (pronounced "View Me"), pays you to upload your pictures to the site. You recieve $3.00 for every 1000 hits. Basically, the site makes money selling advertising and pays you a percentage of their income. I have just been exposed to the site and I've spent the last month testing out how profitable this could be for me.

Money
As of this moment I had made: $3.12
I have posted more than 55 images, see: my Vume profile, to see what I have posted there so far. At the current rate I am going, if I continue to add 10 pictures a week, I will end up with about $12.00 in one year. I have experimented with posting links to my images on digg.com, and also by posting bulletins on myspace.com . I have generated an extra 40-60 hits by advertising the image. However, it is far too much work to do this for each image for a profit of under $.25 .

Vume vs Photobucket
On vume it is not very profitable to post pictures, even if you worked really hard at posting good pictures and advertising them. However, Vume is a free service, and allows you unlimited space to upload images, audio, blog and video. I originally suggested for people to use Vume as a substitute for Photobucket.com, but now Vume has buckled.

Vume's downfall?
When I first reviewed this site only 30 days ago, I said, "Sites like this tend to lose steam, or start taking away profits once enough people are streaming in to the site. Therefore, I don't think vume will stay a profitable place for very long." Sadly, that day has already come, as profits have been slashed by 66% and counting. Not to mention a slew of uploading, hosting, and posting problems. My personally profits went from 3.21, to 1.12 within one day. I do not advise anyone to make money with this site.
