As February 2008 ends, I have also finished my fifth month of blogging! Originally, I started Zombie Robot Frosting, which slowly spawned into Blog Blog Cherry (this blog) and then also the Bearded Bunny Art Blog.
Note: I have been documenting my blog progress since the very beginning. Is it realistic to be able to make money blogging? Find out all the ways I tried to earn money and make your own decisions whether or not it is worth it. Here is a link to my2007 $$$ Blog totals
newest strategy:
Project Wonderful
Another source of small income is Project Wonderful. Using project wonderful you immediately sell space on your blog in an instant bid fashion. High traffic blogs can make very good money this way, and I really like how the site works. You can choose from a vast number of spaces to sell on your blog. This is a neat way to earn a few dollars a month, plus its an extremely cheap and effective way to advertise your own products/ websties as well.
Income: $3.52
current ongoing blog profit centers:
Adbrite
Early on my blogging travels I wanted to try something on this blog besides Google Adsense. Adbrite was the best contender, although it has taken some time to generate much income. See my blog series where I reviewed Adbrite head to head against adsense in my adbrite Vs adsensechallenge. You can see adbrite on this blog on the sidebar and at the bottom of the page. Adbrite was started on November 16th. February 2008 was its best production, and for the first time ever is my biggest income source for February.
Income: $3.80
Google Adsense
Last month, during my Google Adsense Vs Loose Change challenge Adsense managed to earn 7.12! Which was by far the most I have earned with Adsense. However, the month before and this month the total has once again dropped to a dismal number. My total is less than half of last months big number. This means Adbrite (despite less impressions and clicks) has outearned Google Adsense in February.
Income: $3.25 cents
Widgetbucks
Widgetbucks has never been too impressive for my blogs. However, it does trickle in slowly and I plan to stick it out to eventually earn my bonus $25 when I cash out. If you sign up now you can get a bonus $25 dollars for signing up. See my Widgetbucks performance review. I hope I can keep the numbers up and get to the 25 dollar make sooner than later.
Income: $1.33 cents
Vume
Vume (pronounced 'view me') is a photobucket style site, that allows upload and storage of pictures, audio or video. The cool thing about this site, is that it pays you $3 per 1000 views. I have not had enough time to funnel my pictures through Vume lately. The first thing I stop doing when I am cramped for time is skip Vume. Thus, we I only earned one dime. I now have considered the effort not worth the money, since I project it will take me three years to reach the $25 cash out minimum. Not worth it!
Income: $0.16 cents
Total funds (February): $12.06
February fell a dollar short of my record month in January. It is still above my typically blogging average of 7 dollars per month. Still far below what I originally wanted to be earning ($25 per month). My biggest struggle is gaining a consistent flow of traffic day to day. Boosting those numbers will boost all of my statistics.
Also make sure to see my blog traffic totals to see how they work in conjunction with my money making products.
compare my February numbers to my January and also my December totals
and if you are really serious about blogging make sure to see my first blog studies! Make sure you do not make the same mistakes as I did. My November Blog Totals and also my first pathetic month in October 2007

Wonderful Adsense? My January 2008 $$$$ totals!
I have been blogging for four months. Originally, I started Zombie Robot Frosting, which slowly spawned into Blog Blog Cherry (this blog) and then also the Bearded Bunny Art Blog.
Note: All of my statistics have been varying a lot since this only month four of my blogging experience. This should give new bloggers an idea of what to expect if starting a new blog within 90 days. 2007 $$$ Blog totals
newest strategies:
Project Wonderful
Less than fifteen days ago I stumbled on Project Wonderful which is a great tool for selling space on your blog. It allows for bidders to place on ad on any blog they wish, and if they are the highest bidder their ad appears on the page in one day. For more info check out Project Wonderful. I made just under two dollars, but also spent almost $2.50 advertising my blog on others pages.
Income: $1.84
Adbrite
The first two months with Adbrite totalled me $1.17. There was very to little success with my adbrite statistics. However, I do enjoy watching my ads and editting which ads do and do not get shown. Adbrite has been more succesful this month and nearly double my total earnings. I have also recenlty finished reviewing Adbrite in a head to head battle with adsense in my adbrite Vs adsense blog. You can see adbrite on this blog on the sidebar and at the bottom of the page. Adbrite was started on November 16th.
Income: $1.15
Adroll
I've had a few trial runs. where I place ads on my page for free in order to get advertisers to buy ads on my site, and a few of my products were offered the same. I still have not earned anything with the site, and do not see much potential, this might be the last time I even record Adroll on my reports.
Income: $0.00
current ongoing blog profit centers:
Google Adsense
it's been an extremely busy month for google adsense on Blog Blog Cherry. First I pitted Adsense vs Adbrite, and then I challenged Google Adsense to make more money than i can find on the floor. After my dissapointing December, my January was my best month yet.
Income: $7.12 cents
Widgetbucks
See my Widgetbucks performance review. The widgetbucks success is slowed a bit this month. It wasn't booming before either, though. Two dollars a month is a worthy total and worth appearing on two of my blogs.
Income: $2.22 cents
Income: $0.10 cents
Total funds (January): $13.23
My January numbers are taking off, and really looking solid. Compared to my normal totals of 6-8 dollars. Project Wonderful look promising for a few extra dollars per month and I excited to see where that takes me. I am always trying new products and testing new strategies, so you the blogger can pick and choose the ones that will work for your blog. If you know a profit center that works, or a new product that is worth trying out, leave me a comment and I will check it out.

The FINAL SCORE: Adsense vs Loose Change!
Google Adsense Vs Loose Change

The Challenge is Over!
If you havn't been following my Google Adsense VS Loose Change challenge, go back and check it out? I basically felt that I could find more money on the ground than I could with Google Adsense on my blogs Zombie Robot Frosting and the Bearded Bunny Art Blog. Thus the challenge was born.
It is no suprise that my Google Adsense Vs Loose Change blog has quickly become my most popular series of blogs. Over the last thirty days, I have been finding money in old houses, in laundry rooms, mall of america, on Minneapolis streets, in the snow, and at fast food windows. And every blog, I started the post with this question, which I will now ask for the last time:
Can I find more money on the ground, than I can earn with Google Adsense?
No. I can't find more change on the ground than I can make with Google Adsnese in thirty days.
The Final Score
In thirty days Adsense earned me: $7.12
In thirty days Loose Change amount found on the ground: $4.98
Google Adsense
When I started blogging, I did not blindly want to accept Google Adsnese as the godsend to bloggers. This was reenforced by my lack of success early on, using google adsense. I found Adbrite, a competitor to Adsense (Adbrite is the advertiser I currently use on this blog) and I ran a head to head Abrite Vs Adsense war. The winner......Google Adsense. Although Adbrite has some advantages, Google Adsense still seemed to be the smarter choice for new bloggers. Then I put Google's lack of success against loose change. And Google Adsense earned $7.24, the highest I've earned with Adsense since starting in October 2007. I must confess, despite my best efforts, Google Adsense is a very good way to earn income on your blogs. Just do not expect results, without really promoting your product. In fact, I just recetly reviewed ten blog traffic sources and their effectiveness for my new blogs, read myBlog Traffic review

Loose Change Vs Google Adsense (DAY 22-28)
Google Adsense Vs Loose Change

Two More Days
This is day 28 of a thirty day project. Only two days left until my blog study is over!
If you havn't been following my Google Adsense VS Loose Change challenge, where the heck have you been? I challenged Adsense to out earn the amount of money I could find on the ground. In old houses, in laundry rooms, mall of america I have been finding loose change all over the place. Google Adsense has been a dissapointment for me and my three blogs. Two Days remain and the question is still unanswered: Can I find more money on the ground, than I can earn with Google Adsense?
At mall of america I found some change at the food courts and I found 97 cents in my apartments laundry room, giving Google quite a challenge. Suprisingly Adsense has had its most productive month to date, and as of last post had the lead!
It is FREEZING here
Last post I was complaining about how cold it was, and how that would deter me from finding very much loose change. Since I will be avoiding doing much strolling around town. This was mostly a true prediction, except for the one time (breaking my new years resolution) I stopped at Taco Bell and looked down at the drive through to find 67 cent on the ground. The cold customers were not venturing out of the car to get their fallen change, I knew it was meant for me, and meant for this blog post.
Here is the breakdown of the last 6 days for loose change: (see previous stats)
Saturday the 19th: 11 cents
Sunday the 20th: 0 cents
Monday the 21st: 2 cents
Tuesday the 22nd: 1 cent
Wednesday the 23rd: 67 cents
Found at Taco Bell Drive thru
Thursday the 24th: 6 cents
Friday the 25th: 0 cents
new Loose Change Total: $4.91
Google Adsense
Google continually has patches of 1 cent to 4 cent days, and all of a sudden jumps up to over a dollar with a few clicks. The lucky thing for google's numbers this month is that I've had 3 days which have earned over 90% of the 28 days earnings. I figured if Google had one more big day in this last 6 six days, that barring finding a ten dollar bill on the ground the race might be over.
Google Adsense stats for the past 6 days: (see previous stats)
Saturday the 19th: 2 cents
Sunday the 20th: $1.19 cents
Monday the 21st: 1 cent
Tuesday the 22nd: 2 cents
Wednesday the 23rd: 3 cents
Thursday the 24th: 1 cent
Friday the 25th: 0 cents
new Google Adsense Total: $6.44
The Lead
Google now has a lead of $1.53 and I highly doubt I will find that much change on the ground in the next two days. Yet, if I happen to come across a goldmine of loose change, maybe Google has something to fear. I will make my final post in two days, and I will list all of the statistics in one big clean comparitive list.
Two Days Remain
Ever since I joined up for entrecard Google took the lead and has not looked back. The Adsense results are still nothing to write home about, but the last two days may prove successful. Who knows?
Two days before I crown a champion.

Loose Change Vs Google Adsense (DAY 21)
Google Adsense Vs Loose Change

Coin Shortage
This is day 21 of a thirty day project.
If you havn't been following my Google Adsense VS Loose Change challenge, where the heck have you been? Early on I was finding loose change all over the place, in old houses, in laundry rooms and Google Adsense was not making me anything. Then slowly Google Adsense started kicking in and giving my best earnings yet. But here is the 30 day challenge: Can I find more money on the ground, than I can earn with Google Adsense?
Last past I went to the sacred mall of america and found some change. Two posts ago I had found 97 cents in my apartments laundry room. I had a lot of luck finding large amounts of change scattered wherever I went, but Adsense has been lurking around every corner, and last post even took the earnings lead!
Last Three Days
Here in Minnesota it is freaking cold. -7 degree out right now as I write this, and even colder this weekend, it might even effect my change finding statistics, unless I can find some loose change in the numerous blankets I plan to wrap myself in all weekend. That being said, the last three days were a loose change success! Here's the break down.
Loose Change stats for the past three days: (see previous stats)
Wednesday the 16th: 6 cents found
Found on the street of Minneapolis and a few in the basement of a local coffee shop
Thursday the 17th: 56 cents found
Found in a mechanics shop waiting for my girlfriend to see if she wanted to buy a used car. Two hours we waited while I paced back a fourth scrounging for change. I ended up finding money on the ground, in abandoned glove compartment boxes and in the actual garage itself.
Friday the 18th: 2 cents found
Two cents found at the Walker Art Museum while looking at Frida Khalo's artwork.
new Loose Change Total: $4.04
Google Adsense
Twenty one days have now gone by. Google has been a rollercoaster of an earner this month, yet its spikes have been the best I've had. Although, the lows are as bad as ever. The last three days the red hot Google Adsense has cooled down, although still with enough buffer to be ahead by just over one dollar.
Google Adsense stats for the past five days: (see previous stats)
Wednesday the 16th: 1 cent earned
Thursday the 17th: 1 cent earned
Friday the 18th: 4 cents earned
new Google Adsense Total: $5.16
Nine Day Remain
It's the last leg of the competition. Adsense and Loose Change are closing in on the goal. Which of the two has what it takes to out earn the other? Google had a bad three days, however, I still contribute Google's previous success to the entrecard effect. While the initial boost it gave my blogs have worn off, there is still some lasting positive effects of entrecards link trading.
Nine days before I crown a champion.

Adsense's Revenge: where has all the loose change gone?
Google Adsense Vs Loose Change

Coin Shortage
This is day 18 of a thirty day project.
If you havn't been following my Google Adsense VS Loose Change challenge, you should go back a few posts and read about it. My lack of success with Google Adsense forced me to do a thirty day challenge: Can I find more money lying on the ground, or more money with Google Adsense?
In recent posts I was shocked with how much change I was finding on the ground. In my last post I had found 97 cents in my apartments laundry room. I had a lot of luck finding large amounts of change scattered wherever I went.
It seems the well has dried up.
Mall of America

So despite my previous statistics supporting the impressive change found, the last 5 days have been dismal. Yesterday, I did go to Mall of America. I found my first penny in the parking lot, and the second in the dollar tree. The clerk at the dollar tree told me to check out the food courts, "they are littered with pennies." This led me to the food courts and per her advice I found 24 cents in the food courts. Two dimes and four pennies. Good advice if you are looking for free change.
But, besides mall of america I only found 1 penny. Please note: if you click on the mall of america picture you can try to find me and my girlfriend dressed up like Waldo and Walda.
Loose Change stats for the past five days: (see previous stats)
Friday the 11th: 0 cents found
Saturday the 12th: 1 cent found
Sunday the 13th: 0 cents found
Monday the 14th: 26 cents found at mall of america
Tuesday the 15th: 0 cents found
new Loose Change Total: $3.40
Google Adsense
Eighteen days have gone by, and Google Adsense has pulled out a cyber blade, snuck up behind loose change and has the blade to its throat. Google Adsese was losing this battle until last week. Now Google is pulling ahead indefinately.
I am willing to wager that I good deal of this success is due to the entrecard effect. My impressions have doubled for both blogs involved in this study. My number of clicks have also doubled. The earnings have also reflected the positive attention entrecard is leading to my pages.
Google Adsense stats for the past five days: (see previous stats)
Friday the 11th: 5 cents earned
Saturday the 12th: 48 cents earned
Sunday the 13th: $1.32 cents earned
Monday the 14th: 9 cents earned
Tuesday the 15th: 0 cents
new Google Adsense Total: $5.10
A New Hope
Google Adsense took the lead away from loose change! Last update $1.71 was by far my biggest day ever for Adsense, and now another big day earning $1.32 has catapulted my earnings over five dollars. This is by far my best 18 days since starting my blogs in October. Google is now ahead by $1.50 improving its lead from just 3 cents 5 days ago. I pretty big swing. Has Google taken the lead for good, or will my travels bring upon another treasure of found coinage? The last 12 days will determine who will win this battle.

Loose Change Vs Google Adsense: Enter the Dirty Laundry Room

Google Adsense Vs Loose Change
Finding Loose Change
I have been overly suprised with my success finding money scattered on the ground in Minneapolis, common areas, buses, streets, sidewalks etc. On Tuesday I entered my apartments HOORIFYING laundry room. The place is dirty, most of the machines do not work and I was told to be weary of bums that tend to use the room to sleep in at times. The laundry room is also on the honor system....for some reason they gutted the quarter feed so you can retrieve your own quarters after each load.
The amazing thing here, is that I found ten cents in the laundry room only a few days previous. I had scanned the entire room for coins. This time, the dryer was not actually drying anything. Therefore, I was wandering around, looking under things while I waited around. Amazingly, after 15 minutes I have found 97 cents. Three quarters were lodges in an old broken washer, I had to displodge them from the tetanus filled jagged metal coin container.
Once again I impressed with the amount of loose change I am finding and Google Adsense is getting further and further behind in the statistics.
Learn how this battle came about by reading Adsense vs Loose Change. This is day 13 of a thirty day project.
Loose Change stats for the past three days:
Tuesday the 8th: 10 cents found
Wednesday the 9th: 97 cents found
Thursdayday the 10th: 0 cents found
new Loose Change Total: $3.13

Everytime I think Adsense is out of the running to compete in this challenge, I am proven wrong. A big day for loose change typically, for no apparent reason, seems to mean a big day for Google Adsense. I even broke my all-time record for single day earnings. Shocking. My average is 5 cents per day, and Google gave me a $1.71 day. If I was good at percentages I would post that percentage increase here. With that said here is the three day results as google takes the first lead ever in the race:
Tuesday the 8th: $1.71
Wednesday the 9th: 4 cents
Thursdayday the 10th: 1 cent
new Adsense Total: $3.16
A New Leader
Google Adsense took the lead away from loose change! $1.71 was by far my biggest day, with 7 clicks getting er' done. Granted the lead is only 3 cents, and I seem to find a more consistent stream of coinage on the ground than I average with Google. We will see if I can stumble on some more loose change before google strikes again.

Living on Adsense
Earlier this week I was chatting on Blog Catalog (see link on the right sidebar) about Adsense and the lack of success many people are having recently. I ran across a guy who started Living on Adsense blog in mid-December and so far he has already made $50 with Adsense.
While his blog basically pokes fun at the people who try to make a living off of Google Adsense he is actually having some success. His blog cracks me up, with short goofy posts, sometimes about his life and sometimes about his Adsense success.
His blog is very simple and it is very uncluttered and well designed. His ad placements are also very smart, in fact they are some of the best I've seen. Not only do the ads seem to apply to the blog, they are few and far between making them very attractive for the viewer to click. The specific blogs are also a good read. I plan to watch his blog and hope for him to have big success making a living off of Adsense.

27 more cents on the floor, Google is WAY behind

Google Adsense Vs Loose Change
The battle continues to heat up. Learn how this battle came about by reading Adsense vs Loose Change. This is day 10 of a thirty day project and due to the quarter and two pennies I found in basement of our apartment building Google is now way behind!
Saturday the 5th: 1 penny found
Sunday the 6th: 27 cents found
Monday the 7th: 0 cents found
new Loose Change Total: $2.06
Poor Google is getting crushed in this competition. Adsense did just win in a close battle against Adbrite in my 40 day advertising war. However, once Google was faced up with the monster that is Loose Change found on the floor...adsense is just no match.
Saturday the 5th: $0.01
Sunday the 6th: $0.11
Monday the 7th: $0.09
new Adsense Total: $1.41

Is Adbrite better than Adsense? (FINAL REPORT)
Adbrite Vs Adsense battle
Late last year I began an adveriting battle between google adsense and adbrite. I wanted to test how well each advertiser would do with brand new blogs as they emerged. Both the zombie robot frosting blog and this Blog Blog Cherry's statistics were closely followed. See the very first Adbrite Vs Adsense blog, which explained the results after 20 days.
To make these statistics as fair as I can, I am using Adsense statistics from the very beginning of my blogging experience, and matching it with Adbrite's numbers at the very start of this blog. I have finished the results after 40 days, this should give any new bloggers a good reference for deciding which product to host on their new and emerging blogs.
The reason the battle is ending at 40 days, is because at day 40 I opened my art blog which also used adsense, thus altering those statistics drastically. I no longer could make fair comparisons to Adbrite, which is still only running on Blog Blog Cherry.
Statistical Breakdown
Note: keep in mind these are stats for the literal first forty days of each blog, therefore numbers are expected to be very low. Also feel free to see my 20 day results and 10 day results
Google Adsense:
clicks: 27
twenty day earnings: $2.25
Adbrite
clicks: 9
twenty day earnings: $1.16
Critique
In the very start of Blog Blog Cherry I wrote a Adbrite review, which explained my hopes and untested review, like the ability to see how much each advertiser pays per click. You can literally weed through bad ads, or low paying ads, leaving only the most content specific and highest paying ads on your page. With only a little management adbrite allows for far better control and use of your advertisers. However, bad links leak into the system daily, and some very obvious ad links show, which causes very clickable links to be revealed as obvious ads. I think this issue caused Adbrite clicks to remain very very low.
Adsense on the other hand had a whole different bag of negatives. Adsense had very clickable links (although it did have more page impressions on average than my adbrite campaign) which resulted in three times as many clicks as Adbrites 40 day total. Meanwhile, Adsense still had 22 of 40 days with $0.00 earnnings. In fact, besides two very valuable days, Adsense averaged under $0.02 per day. Adsense had two days, one which earned $1.16 and another day earning $0.60 cents. The one big day for Adsense, equaled the entire Adbrite 40 day total. Overall Adsense actually average less money per 1000 impressions. Adsense $0.66 cents per 1000 page impressions and Adbrite averaged $0.77 per 1000 page impressions. Making the results a bit gray.
Mixed Feelings
My adsense numbers after the 40 days have had some improved success, but this is also due to higher page impression numbers. Adbrite is a much more consistent monster, but seems to need a lit more advertising maitenance. I am willing to say that if you are a new blogger and you have the time to manage ads multiple times a week, getting rid of low earning ads, non-related, and obvious ad links then Adbrite is the better of the two.
However, if you want some easy results which some days can surprise you while most days will dissapoint, then Adsense is the place to go. If you can muster a good deal of impressions and traffic it seems to be a very lucrative advertising method. Adbrite even with its advantages falls short for those wanting to simply spend time on blogging and not managing ads.
Adbrite Vs Adsense WINNER: Adsense
Keep in mind Adbrite is an excellent alternative and a valuable tool if used correctly, see my review and sign up for it at myAdbrite review.

Loose Change found on the ground VS Google Adsense (DAY 7)
The Battle Heats Up
Ever since I started blogging (October 2007), and signed up for Google Adsense, I strongly feel that I can find more discarded change on the ground than I can make daily with Google Adsense. My first explains my views further, read the original Loose Change Vs Adsense post.
I started this 30 day project on December 28th. Things have really started to heat up, as I had two big days of finding change on the ground and also had two relatively big google adsense days. Read on...
Found Loose Change
My first day I found 11 cents on the ground, and immediately Google was far behind. My change finding challenge has been incredibly lucrative so far. I was moving out of the house I was renting (which is now foreclosed on) in Minneapolis, and into an apartment in Uptown. During this process I found 94 cents in my roommates empty room. He apparently has no need for change when he's got so much paper cash. His name is Matt and he is an artist, his website is here: www.catswilleatyou.com.
My second big day. On new years day, I went back to our foreclosed house to make one more sweep of the premises and in the process found 60 cents lying around in different areas of the house. Keep in mind this is a five bedroom house, which leave lots of areas to find change while checking for any left or forgotten items.
In the days inbetween, before and after I have found an additional 2 cents lying on the ground. Here is the loose change break down:
28th: 11 cents
29th: 95 cents
30th: 1 cent
31st: 60 cents
1st: 0 cents
2nd: 1 cent
3rd: 0 cents
Found Loose Change 7 day Total: $1.68
A very impressive first seven days of the challenge. After my 95 cent day I assumed Google was out of the running already. Little did I know I was going to have two impressive google adsense days as well....
Google Adsense
I have explained before my frustration with Google Adsense and the fact that it is very hard to get any sort of consistency. I have had a number of people yell at me that I do not have enough page impressions to make any significant amounts of money with adsense. I am working on my page impressions.
To see my money totals in 2007 for adsense and other products feel free to read my 2007 $$$ Blog Totals. My best adsense month was $5 but average around a dollar and a half per month.
Given some semi success with my last couple blog posts on Zombie Robot Frosting and The Bearded Bunny Art Blog I have managed a pretty respectable first seven days of my challenge.
Google's first seven days:
28th: 2 cents
29th: 30 cents
30th: 4 cents
31st: 2 cents
1st: 43 cents
2nd: 1 cent
3rd: 11 cents
Google Adsense 7 day Total: $0.91
Amazingly Adsense is still in the running, but still quite a bit behind. I do not forsee finding large amounts of change on the ground in the near future and if adsense continues to produce it might take the cake in the long run. The next 23 days should prove interesting.
7 Day EARNINGS Scoreboard
1/3/07- Adsense: $0.91
Money on ground: $1.68

2007 $$$ Blog Totals
I starting blogging less than 90 days ago. Originally, I started Zombie Robot Frosting, which just recently spawned into Blog Blog Cherry (this blog) and then also the Bearded Bunny Art Blog.
Note: All of my statistics have been varying a lot since this only month three of my blogging experience. This should give new bloggers an idea of what to expect if starting a new blog within 90 days.
newest strategies:
Adbrite
Early on, Google Adsense was showing me very little results on my blogs, I decided to go searching for another product like adsense and found Adbrite. I have reviewed Adbrite head to head with adsense in my adbrite Vs adsense blog. You can see adbrite on this blog on the sidebar and at the bottom of the page. Adbrite was started on November 16th.
Monthly Income: $0.78
Yearly Total: $1.17
Adroll
I was contacted by Adroll staff, asking if I wanted to try out their new advertising product. The products works in sync with adsense or adbrite type website advertising. It sells ads in the same spaces, for more than the competitor. Potentially, it could generate better paying ads on my blogs. I started November 28th, and in the first 35 days have had zero clicks. I am becomming skeptical if this product will work for me. My lack of success may be due to my low page impression count, I can invite other bloggers, so if you want to try out this product, please comment and I will send you an invite.
Income: $0.00
Widgetbucks
See my Widgetbucks performance review. This is my first 30 days using WB. Singing up with WB offers $25 free dollars, which is a nice incentive to try it out. The product is very new, and just started paying out the first earnings. Hopefully their are no hitches in the system as it seems to be a decent product for bloggers. I am a big fan of the green products that appear on my page since I do support green products awarness. 14 clicks in November.
Income: (ZoRoFro: $1.35/ BBC: $1.45) $2.80 cents
Yearly Income: $6.67
current ongoing blog profit centers:
Google Adsense
After a very turtle-like start, my adsense was finally showing some promise. This month I seem to have dipped back into the mediocre level. I seem to get very inconsistent results day-by-day. Running adsense on my Bearded Bunny Art Blog and Zombie Robot Frosting has netted me just over 2 dollar, and nearly 8 dollars for the year. Keep in mind, November I made a record 5 dollars with Google Adsense.
Income: $2.16 cents
Yearly Income: $7.77
Voxant Newsroom
On my Zombie Robot Frosting blog I have news videos to embeded on my page. In month one, this was my favorite and best source of income for the blog. I did realize that I had the video set to auto play for viewers, generating me income but annoying all viewers. December was even less fruitful than the unimpressive November totals, as I also had problem with the player loading cropped. So currently, I do not even have the player on my blog.
Income: $0.09 cents
Yearly Income: $3.78 cents
Vume
Vume (pronounced 'view me') is a photobucket style site, that allows upload and storage of pictures, audio or video. The cool thing about this site, is that it pays you $3 per 1000 views. I was using this site to host my blog pictures and since the start of my blogging. Sadly, it has gone through some rough periods here, good things it seems to back to functioning and I made a measly profit in December, yet slightly higher than last month. It rounds out the year almost making 3 and a half dollars.
Income: $0.23 cents
Yearly Income: $3.43 cents
Total funds (December): $6.01
Yearly Blogging Funds (2007): $22.82
Note: I want to stress the fact that this is month #3 in my short blogging experience, and the yearly total is not a full year. Yet, I did want to calculate the numbers so at the end of 2008 I have something to gauge my success against. The $6 December total shows some disappointments in all areas, although my post number and page impressions did go slightly down in a stressful month of moving and holidays. I still want to run a post about my page impression strategies soon, Blog Rush, Blog Catalog and more.
I am always trying new products and testing new strategies. If you know a profit center that works, or a new product that is worth trying out, leave me a comment and I will check it out.

I find more change on the ground than I make with Google Adsense
Discarded Change
Ever since I started blogging (October 2007), and signed up for Google Adsense, I strongly feel that I can find more discarded change on the ground than I can make daily with Google Adsense.
Starting today, I am going to start picking up any pennies, dimes or nickels I find on the ground (I'm not going hunting, but if I happen to notice it in my daily routine) and I am going to keep running totals of each. I have a good notion that I will find more pennies on the ground then I will make with Adsense.
This will be a one month project.
Frustration
I admit that this project stems from my dissatisfaction with Google Adsense. I hear of many new blogs making money with Adsense, but I hear of a lot more making little to none. It is frustrating when your readership grows and the blog gets better and better, and yet the Adsense stats do not reflect the success. Therefore, my frustration is pitting Google's pennies against the discarded dirty pennies on the ground.
Day One
This morning I found a dime in the snow. This afternoon I found a penny in front of my store. Adsense has made me only one cent so far today.
12/28/07- Adsense: $0.01
Money on ground: $0.11

Obsessively Checking Adsense Stats
Two months ago, I began my blogging adventure. Opening Zombie Robot Frosting and then spawning the Bearded Bunny Art Blog and this site, Blog Blog Cherry. Not longer after signing up for my blog, I was at Google trying to get adsense onto my page. Little did I know....that I would become obsessed.
I have this urge to check my adsense statistics every time I am online. I want to know how many impression I have, how many pennies I made, and hope to see a mark in the "clicks" column. In my November earnings blog you can see that I do not make very much money with Adsense. If fact, only a few cents per day average, and if you took out my top 5 most lucritive days, I literally average less than 2 cents per day. However, this does not stop me from logging in to Adsense at less 10 times a week. There have been days that I will check it 5-6 times, just to track the progress. I will check in the morning, then I will write a blog, check the stats again, then I will post the blog on digg, reddit, and myspace and check again, and then let the posts steep a while and check one more time. Anytime I post a link to my newest blog on a related forum or other, I am always pumped to check my statistics and see if the numbers have made any change (usually it has not made much difference).
I am curious to know if other bloggers continually check their adsense numbers. Is this a normal obsession, or am I the only one? What is it about those minimal numbers that draw my curiousity so strongly?
If only I could earn a few cents each time I logged in to check my stats. Because then maybe I would make some considerable money with Google Adsense. In the meantime, I am going to try to ween myself off of the obsessive checking of my numbers and try to spend my time more productively writing more blogs and coming up with better blogging strategies for the future.

Adsense Vs Adbrite: 10 day totals
Adbrite Vs Adsense battle
October 5th I began my journey with Google adsense. I started posting adsense on my zombie robot frosting blog. Ten days ago I started this blog, Blog Blog Cherry using Adbrite as my advertising focus. Here I will post the results from each product after ten days of results.
Statistical Breakdown
Note: keep in mind these are stats for the literal first ten days of each blog, therefore numbers are expected to be very low.
Google Adsense:
page impressions: 756
clicks: 7
ten day earnings: $0.06
Adbrite
page impressions: 324
clicks: 1
ten day earnings: $0.15
Critique
As I mentioned in my last post, that Adbrite has advantages, like choosing which ads will be acceptable on your page and knowing exactly how much each specific ad can generate (this can range from $.05 to $1.60). While Google adsense had better numbers for impressions (which has more to do with people visiting my site than anything) still Adbrite's one single click generated nearly 3 times the earnings in the first 10 days. It will be interesting to see how this earnings battle plays out.
A Fair Fight?
To make this head to head war as fair as possible I need to try to equalize the page impressions for blog blog cherry. This will mean a number of posts about relevant topics and finding people to come see the content. Ten days is not much to go on at this time, but it will be interesting to see the statistics as time goes on.

Is Google God or the Devil?
Have search engines gone too far?
I admit I enjoy Gmail, Google search engines, and other various google products. I also am very impressed with Google's business strategies and overall power as a company. However... have you heard of the Church of Google and/or Googlism?
9 proofs
This Church of Google claims 9 proofs why Google is god. It claims things like claiming Google is Omniscient and Omnipresent, it can answer our prayers and lives an immortal life on one or millions of servers. A website religion? Have search engines gone too far? Are they too powerful?
Power of Google
I for one, fear the power of search engines, and their ability to control what we want to see, or know. A huge majority of advertising is now done through search engines, and more specifically google, and it is growing at an alarming rate. Google is gaining control of more information, more money, more history, than anything we've ever known. Google as a corporation and search engine behemoth is threatening our web independence.
Evil Google
I begin to wonder if Google is simply just Big Brother keeping an eye on us all. Google has the potential to be very evil, if this power gets into the wrong hands, or if greed sets in, google could rule the world.
Irony
In the meantime, please use google search engine at the bottom of this page, and use google adsense to the right side of your screen, to click on relevant links you might enjoy. And yes, I am fully aware of hypocritical irony here.
